Adding metadata to a clip makes it easier to identify the clip, which improves the workflow. Additionally, adding metadata is also good for your video SEO.

Navigate to the “Media Library” and look for the video you want to edit. Open the video and click on the “Metadata” tab.

- Consider the number of characters (50-60 characters)
- Make sure you put the most important keyword at the beginning

- The description field accepts simple HTML, e.g. <a>, <i> and <u> tags.

2.0 | Custom fields
For some videos you might want some extra metadata fields. These could be fields like Category or Purpose, or you might want to link them to a specific person within your company, like an account manager or marketing director.
To add a custom field, go to publication settings by clicking the gear icon on the top right. Then select the Custom Fields tab, and here you can add a custom field. Once you’ve filled in the name of the custom field in Label, you can select whether the custom field should be public, mandatory and visible. You can also select the type of the input field:

- List (dropdown menu)

- Date
- Color
