Publication Settings

This article describes the settings available on the Publication Settings page. These settings apply publication-wide and affect default behaviour across your content, player, and analytics.

To open the Publication Settings page:

  1. In the left sidebar of your OVP, click Publication settings.
  2. Select Settings.

1.0 | General settings

  • Publication default language
Select the default language for your publication. This language is used as a fallback wherever the “Default language (publication setting)” option is selected; for example, in playout subtitle and audio track settings.
  • IP filter statistics
Enter IP addresses for which no statistics should be logged.

    • Accepts individual addresses (e.g. 192.168.100.1) or ranges in CIDR notation (e.g. 192.168.100.0/24).
    • Add multiple entries using the + button.
  • Default deep link
Set a default deep link URL for media clips that do not have a deep link of their own. To include clip metadata dynamically, wrap a field name in double curly braces (for example, {{title}}).
  • Automatic deep link domains
When a clip (with no deep link of its own) receives over 100 views from a URL on one of these whitelisted domains, that URL is automatically set as the clip’s deep link. This option is not available when a Default deep link is configured.
  • Enable advertising
Enable or disable all ad units for this publication.
  • Embargo settings
Determines which embargo options are available in the Embed tab of a media clip. Available options:

    • Embargo: only the Embargo option is shown
    • Soft embargo: only the Soft embargo option is shown
    • Both: both options are shown

2.0 | Thumbnails

The Thumbnails section lets you manage the thumbnail sets available for your publication. Each set defines an aspect ratio used when generating thumbnails for media clips.

Each row in the table has the following columns:

  • Active
Enable or disable this thumbnail set for your publication.
  • Label
The display name of the thumbnail set.
  • Value
The internal identifier for the set.
  • Custom values
When enabled, allows custom width and height values to be entered for the set.
  • Width / Height
The aspect ratio of the thumbnail set.

Eight sets are available by default: Portrait (9:16), Landscape (16:9), Widescreen (21:9), Classic TV (4:3), Photo (3:2), Square (1:1), Poster (4:5), and HERO (16:9). Use + Add option to create additional custom sets.

3.0 | React page branding

These settings control the branding of React pages in your publication.

Text displayed at the top of the React page.
  • Logo
Image displayed at the top of the React page.
  • Highlight color
Brand color used for highlights on the React page (for example, selected input fields and timestamps). Defaults to #3693ef.
