1.0 | Creating an account
In the Online Video Platform, click on the Settings icon on the top right and then select the option for Users. If you can’t see this option, it means you don’t have the user management permission. Contact your account manager or the support team (firstname.lastname@example.org) to add this permission or to help you with setting up new accounts.
Once you’ve reached the Users screen, you’ll see an overview of all users in your publication. From here, you can add new users, edit or delete existing users, and reset a user’s password.
1.1 | Create a new user
If you need to create a new user from scratch, click on the “Create a new user” button. Every account stores the following information:
- Email address
- First name
- Last name
- Username — By default, the username will be composed of the first letter of the first name, followed by a dot (
.) and the last name.
- Password — case sensitive. If left blank, the system will send an email to set a new password.
- One or more user roles — See Roles and permissions for more information
Once you’ve entered the required information, click Save on the bottom right to add the user.
1.2 | Duplicating a user
Duplicating a user is handy if you’re going to have multiple users in your publication with the same permissions. In the Users screen, select an existing user and click on “Duplicate”. The same roles will automatically be selected, and you’ll be promped to fill in the rest of the user information and click on Save on the bottom right to add the user.
2.0 | Setting / Resetting a password
When an account is created, an email will be sent to the specified email address with further instructions to activate the account by setting a password that will be used to log in.
When you have forgotten your password, it is possible to reset your password by providing the email address that is linked to your account. You can do this at the login screen, by clicking Forgot password? An email will be sent to your email address with a link to set a new password. After setting a new password, you are able to log in again using the password you set earlier.
