1.0 | User Management
Users with admin access can manage users in the Online Video Platform.
- Click “Publication settings” in the left menu panel.
- Click “Users”.
- Create new users, edit or delete existing users, and reset user passwords here:

1.1 | Create a new user
To create a new user:
- Click the “Create a new user” button.
- For each user, the following details are stored:
- Email address
- First name
- Last name
- Username
The username is used to log in to the OVP. By default, it is composed of the first letter of the first name (lowercase), followed by a dot (.) and the last name (lowercase, special characters removed). The username can be edited manually before saving. - Password (case sensitive)
If left blank, the OVP will send an email to the user to set a new password. A password must either be at least 8 characters long and contain at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, and one number; or be at least 16 characters long. - One or more user roles
Roles are hierarchical: selecting a higher role (e.g. Publisher) automatically includes the lower roles below it. See Roles and permissions for more information. At least one role must be assigned.
- When finished, click Save on the bottom right to add the user. If no password was set, the new user will automatically receive an email with instructions to set their password and activate their account.

1.2 | Duplicate a user
Duplicating a user can be convenient when creating multiple users with the same permissions. To duplicate:
- Select an existing user.
- Click “Duplicate”.

- The same roles will be applied to the new user. You’ll be prompted to fill in a unique email address and set a new password; these are not copied from the original user.
- Click “Save” on the bottom right to add the user.
2.0 | Set / Reset password
When an account is created, an email is sent to the specified email address with instructions to activate the account by setting a password.
Forgot your password? On the OVP login screen, click Forgot password? and enter the email address linked to your account. You will receive an email with a link to set a new password.
Admin reset: Admins can also reset a user’s password directly from the Users list. Select the user and click “Reset password”. The user will receive an email with instructions to set a new password.
