Social Analytics

The Social Analytics section gives you insight into how your exported videos are performing on social media. It displays views, engagement, and watch behaviour for videos exported from the OVP to YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.

Note:

Detailed analytics data is currently available for YouTube only. Facebook and Instagram channels can be selected, but the availability of analytics data for those platforms depends on what the respective platform APIs return.

Access Social Analytics via Analytics in the left menu panel, then select Socials.

1.0 | Filters

At the top of the Social Analytics dashboard you can filter the data using three controls:

  • Select channel — filter by a specific YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram export channel. By default, data is aggregated across all connected channels.
  • Media clip — filter the data for a specific exported mediaclip. Only published video clips that have been exported to a social channel are available in this selector.
  • Date range — set the time period to report on. The following presets are available: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 6 months, Week to date, Last week, Month to date, Last month, Quarter to date, Last quarter, Year to date, Last year, and Custom. The earliest available date is 1 January 2019.

Each metric is also compared to the equivalent previous period, shown as a percentage change below the metric value.

2.0 | Metrics

The following metrics are displayed as KPI blocks at the top of the dashboard:

  • Views — the number of times a video started playing on a social channel.
  • View time percentage — the average percentage of the video watched per playback.
  • View time average — the average watch duration per playback.
  • Shares — the number of times the video was shared from a social channel.
  • Likes — the number of times users gave the video a positive rating.

3.0 | Charts

Below the KPI blocks, two line charts display trends over the selected date range:

  • Views — daily view count over the selected period.
  • Likes — daily like count over the selected period.

The Popular media clips table lists the top 10 most-viewed clips for the selected filters and date range. The table shows each clip’s rank, thumbnail, title, and view count.
