We’re pleased to release the 8.8 version of the Blue Billywig Online Video Platform.
Channels
For Channels, we’re introducing two new features:
Playout per playlist
You can now assign a specific Playout to playlists within your Channel. While in the past, we only allowed a single Playout per Channel, you will now have a bit more flexibility.
With this new option, you can assign different monetization models to the content within a single Channel or change the behavior of the Playout per playlist. The sky’s the limit!
You can find this option in the Advanced sections of the Playlist settings within the Channel editor.
Full width detail page
We’re also introducing a new option for your Channel’s detail page. The full width option allows you to create a detail page that maximizes the space reserved for your video content. This will allow the content to shine even more.
This option can be found in the Detail page settings within the Channel editor.
- Optimised the Content Protection rejection messages for smaller screens.
- Improved our handling of transcoding jobs for more efficient queues.
- Improved our error handling to provide clearer error codes.
- Accessibility options are now enabled for new Playouts by default.
- Improved the way we apply the smart fitmode to content.
- Fixed an issue with pre-rolls playing behind the Content Protection message when triggered.
- Fixed an issue with not all connected clips showing in the Content Protection policy.
- Fixed an issue with the navigation in the OVP not always highlighting the active page.
- Fixed an issue with the color picker in the Playout settings.
- Fixed the rendering of the transcripts below the player.
- Fixed an issue with autoplaying in specific cases.
SDK
- Chapter and Highlights are now available on Android and iOS through our SDKs!
