We’re pleased to release the 8.49 version of the Blue Billywig Online Video Platform.
- Channels now supports configurable hover states for video items, including zoom, outlined, and background-colour options with metadata overlay and animated thumbnail preview — configurable per channel and per block.
- Channels and the OVP now support per-element font size configuration across 24 text categories with preset shortcuts (Small / Medium / Large).
- Interactive studio text fields and buttons now support auto-layout, adapting to content width — particularly useful for multilingual setups.
- Improved subtitle font sizing for portrait video players.
- OVP global search now surfaces contextual results for related entities.
- The mediaclip details page now includes additional search options.
- The WordPress plugin has received a major update with improvements across upload, embedding, SEO, and content management.
- Drupal plugin now supports Content Protection Policy selection via a modal dropdown.
- Fixed an issue with HTML characters rendering in several places.
- Fixed an issue where subtitle backgrounds overlapped on multi-line HLS subtitles.
- Fixed multiple issues with template-level interactivity context buttons in the interactive studio.
- Fixed an issue with the commercial skip button not displaying correctly when configured with HTML.
- Fixed multiple Prebid ad-related issues.
- Fixed a player black screen issue when reloading with certain ad schedule macros.
- Fixed an issue with projects not displaying correctly in Channels.
- Fixed an issue where WCAG text alternatives configured in playout settings were not reflected in the DOM.
- Fixed an issue with the player interface showing on top of content protection messages.
- Fixed an issue where thumbnail generation for MXF files produced interlacing artefacts.
- Fixed an issue with Scribit.Pro module configuration in the OVP.

SDK
- Android SDK updated to support Media3 1.9.2.
- iOS and Android SDKs now expose APIs for external Chromecast session control, including castMode and endCastSession.
- The iOS SwiftUI player wrapper now supports playlist context when loading clips, enabling auto-advance in native channel integrations.
- Improved 16:9 content display on the iOS channel detail page.
- Fixed an issue in the Channels SDK where navigating back from a detail page returned to the main page instead of the overview.
- Fixed an issue in the Channels SDK where Cast playback was interrupted when navigating between pages.
